Structural Steel Transport Brisbane
Structural steel for Brisbane's commercial and industrial builds — beams, columns, trusses, bridge girders and fabricated frames — is long, sometimes wide, and always schedule-critical. A 16-metre beam on the wrong trailer will hang out the back and trigger a permit; a wide truss will need a pilot. We plan structural steel transport around the member dimensions, the fabrication-to-site route and the crane lift sequence.
What we move
Universal beams and columns, fabricated girders, trusses, bridge beams, plate girders, lattice members and complete fabricated frames. We move from fabricators (commonly around Yatala, Ipswich and the Brisbane southern belt) to commercial and civil sites across SEQ.
Trailer matching
Long beams and trusses suit an extendable drop deck to control overhang. Very long bridge girders may need a jeep dolly or a second trailer. We match the deck length to the member so the load stays within escort thresholds and the site crane can lift it cleanly.
Permit and escort
Rear overhang beyond 3.7m triggers a permit and usually a pilot; long combinations need a route survey for turning at roundabouts and tight SEQ intersections. We handle the NHVR access permit and the pilot plan, and we check the swept path at the Gateway and Logan interchanges.
Site and lift sequence
Steel deliveries run to a crane lift sequence — the fabricator, the builder and the crane operator all need the right members on site in the right order. We coordinate the delivery sequence and route around the Gateway and Ipswich peaks to hit the lift windows.
Get it quoted
Send the member dimensions and weight, the fabricator-to-site route and the lift sequence. We'll match the trailer, plan the permit and give you an indicative rate.
Recommended fleet
This work typically runs on our Drop Deck / Extendable. See the fleet detail for indicative specs and configurations.
