Oversize Haulage Brisbane

Planned oversize, OSOM and heavy haulage — the right trailer, the permit, the pilot and the route, assessed per load across SEQ.

Planned oversize haulage, not tow-truck recovery

Brisbane Oversize Haulage plans and moves over-dimensional and over-mass cargo across Brisbane and South East Queensland. We're not a tow-truck or breakdown recovery service — we engineer planned moves for excavators, cranes, precast, structural steel, transportable buildings, transformers, mining equipment and wide loads, with the trailer, the NHVR permit, the route survey and the pilot escort plan all handled as one job.

The difference between a clean oversize move and a stalled one is planning. A 50-tonne excavator on the wrong trailer overloads the axles before it leaves the yard. An over-height load on the wrong route hits a bridge. A wide load without a permit and pilot doesn't travel. We match the trailer to the load, survey the route against SEQ's pinch points — the Gateway and Logan Motorway interchanges, the Ipswich and Warrego corridors, the Toowoomba range crossing — and book the permits and pilots early so the move actually happens when you need it.

We cover Brisbane and SEQ only: the Port of Brisbane, Acacia Ridge, Ipswich, Logan, Yatala, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Caboolture and the Redlands. No statewide location farms, no invented reviews, no fake fleet capacities — just planned oversize haulage by people who know the corridor.

How a planned move works

01

Tell us the load

Load type, dimensions, weight and the pickup-to-delivery route. The more detail, the tighter the plan.

02

We match the trailer

Low loader, extendable drop deck or platform float — selected against your load, not a default.

03

Permit & escort plan

NHVR access permit, route survey, bridge ratings and the pilot escort plan sized to the load.

04

We move it

Scheduled around SEQ peaks, school zones and port/site windows — the load travels when the corridor allows.

Brisbane & South East Queensland

Our service area is Brisbane and SEQ — no further. We know the corridor: the Port of Brisbane discharge windows, the Acacia Ridge–Richlands heavy vehicle belt, the Gateway and Logan Motorway interchange geometry, the Ipswich and Warrego corridors west, and the Yatala–Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast routes north. Each location page breaks down the industrial areas, the likely loads and the route and permit considerations for that part of SEQ.

We don't run doorway location pages for places we don't service. If your move is in Brisbane or SEQ, we plan it. If it isn't, we'll tell you.

Full FAQ
What areas does Brisbane Oversize Haulage cover?

We cover Brisbane and South East Queensland only — including the Port of Brisbane, Acacia Ridge, Ipswich, Logan, Yatala, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Caboolture and the Redlands. We don't run a statewide location farm and we don't service Bundaberg, Cairns, Townsville, Mount Isa or Roma.

What counts as an oversize or OSOM load?

A load is oversize when it exceeds standard dimension limits — typically width over 2.5 metres, height over 4.3 metres, or significant rear overhang. OSOM (Over-Size Over-Mass) loads also exceed mass limits and need a National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) access permit, a route survey and usually a pilot escort plan.

Do you organise permits and pilot escorts?

Yes. We arrange NHVR access permits, route surveys, bridge and pavement rating checks where needed, and the pilot escort plan sized to the load's width, height and mass. For the largest OSOM moves we coordinate traffic management and police escort. Permit lead time often governs when a move can travel, so we book early.

What trailer do I need for my load?

It depends on the load's weight, width, length and height. Low loaders suit most earthmoving plant and over-height items; extendable drop decks suit long structural steel and precast; platform floats with dollies and steerable rears suit heavy transformers and mining modules. We confirm the right trailer against your dimensions and weight when you request a quote.

How are indicative rates calculated?

Indicative rates (dated September 2026) reflect typical low-loader day and kilometre bands for SEQ, plus permit, pilot and fuel-levy variables. They are a planning guide only — not a quote and not a guarantee. Your final price depends on the exact load, route, permit requirements, escort numbers, timing and fuel levy at the time. Request a quote for a firm indication.
